Hugo Davies: The Beginning

Hello, my name is Hugo and this is my story. I was born in Washington, D.C., but I have spent most of my childhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. My home has shaped my perspective on life and how I view the world. I will always hold Pittsburgh close to my heart. After all, I was given the best childhood I could ever desire, full of late summer nights and a delicious breakfast at Pamela’s Diner. Despite the affection for my home, I cannot wait for the next journey in my life.

Throughout my gap year, I am planning on exploring career opportunities, traveling to foreign regions, and improving my Spanish language skills. I currently work as an intern at a local real estate brokerage, Venture Real Estate, and I plan on continuing this professional relationship throughout my gap year experience. Furthermore, I am intrigued by the world of technology and plan to pursue my interests in computer science through certifications and internships. In my gap year, I wish to have an intercultural experience in a Spanish speaking region. For as long as I can remember, I have yearned to travel the world and meet new people. With the opportunity of this gap year, I will be able to pursue my curiosity and meet my goals. I am ecstatic to start the journey of my gap year and the next chapter of my life.

  3. I studied Spanish on my own for about a year to challenge myself and see how good I could get. My only piece of advice; if you don’t use it, you lose it. After this year be sure to keep using your Spanish to keep it in your brain! I am also from the 412, small world!
